Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 22 – Government Lawyer Ky Tech said on Wednesday that Kem Sokha’s trial is not different from other trials; hence, there will be no live.
Ky Tech’s reaction came after the public requested to the court to live Kem Sokha’s hearing on his treason case.
Ky Tech said, “if we look at article 31 of the constitution, it stipulates that Khmer citizens are equal before the law; so there is nothing special about Kem Sokha’s trial.”
“Kem Sokha is a just a person, an accuse, committing criminal offense just like other accuses,” Tech underlined.
He continued that, “everyone is equal before law. There is no lives in other hearings, so there should be no live in Kem Sokha’s hearing too.”
Kem Sokha has been accused of conspiring with foreigners to topple the legitimate Royal Government of Cambodia. If found guilty, he faces up to 30 years imprisonment.
