Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 27 – Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni praised the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Sen for improving the lives of people with disabilities, according to the royal message released at the official launch of the National Disability Strategic Plan (NDSP) 2019-2023 on Wednesday.
“Under the wise leadership of Head of Royal Government of Cambodia, Prime Minister Hun Sen, disabilities peoples’ lives has been improved through growing numbers of jobs and decent employment, contributing to poverty reduction,” according to His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni’s letter Fresh News received on Wednesday.
The King said that the five-year achievement of the 2014-2018 NDSP has enabled disabled people to access both quality and equitable health services and better physical and mental rehabilitation.
“The promotion of the participation of persons with disabilities to receive information and participate in political activities are encouraged at the national and international level, including the guarantees of social, cultural, religious, sports, and recreational rights.”
His Majesty has encouraged people to continue supporting the activities of people with disabilities in order to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities.
He also thanked the local and international community for their generosity on material and financial support to help people with disabilities in Cambodia.
