Sihanoukville (FN), Nov. 16 – Head of the Royal Government of Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that the releases on bails of people allegedly involved in the 9/11 coup plan is not done based on the pressure of the international community but compassion.

The statement was made at the inauguration of road construction in the kingdom’s coastal province Sihanoukville on 16 November 2019.

“Do not mention that we release them [people allegedly involve in Sam Rainsy’s coup attempt] on bails due to international community pressure. We have repeatedly inform that never trade sovereignty with aids,” the premier stated.

Premier Hun Sen has appealed to withdraw the arrest warrants from people who were deceived by traitor Sam Rainsy, and released on bails those who were allegedly charged with the case of 9/11 coup.

“We know that you are deceived. We could not grant pardons before 9 November, for the government is obliged to enforce the court orders and take appropriate measures [to safeguard peace],” the premier said Thursday at the cement factory inauguration in Kampot.

“Releasing on bails is effective only for the 9/11 cases; it does not apply to rape or drug cases,” the premier reiterated.

Prime Minister also called on Cambodian people in Thailand to return home and enjoy living under the roof of peace.

“Please come back home. You will not be charged nor arrested,” he said.

General Commissariat National Police’s Spokesperson Chhay Kimkhoeun told Fresh News on Thursday that approximately 600 people have involved with Rainsy’s 9/11 coup. Among those, 71 are in detention, and 575 have confessed their crimes.
