Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 15 – The Royal Government of Cambodia and the Chinese Government planned to hold the first official consultation on feasibility study of the bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) between the two countries in early December, according to the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia Facebook page on Thursday.
“In accordance with the consensus reached by high leaders of the two countries, China and Cambodia will launch 1st official consultation on bilateral FTA feasibility study in Beijing on 3 December 2019. This comes as a special arrangement in light of the friendly relations between China and Cambodia. Ministries of Commerce of the two countries have previously established a contact mechanism at the working level and maintained close communication,” wrote the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia.
Cambodia-China trade volume reached USD 7.4 billion in 2018, and the two countries aimed to reach bilateral trade worth of USD 10 billion by 2023.
