Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 9 – The outlawed Cambodian opposition leader Sam Rainsy failed to repatriate to the kingdom to overthrow the legitimate Royal Government despite landed in Malaysia on 9 November 2019.
Rainsy has used a foreign passport and a tourist visa to get into Malaysia, a senior government official told Fresh News on Saturday.
“Even if Rainsy is in Malaysia through his foreign passport and tourist visa, he could not rehabilitate his failure due to lacks of supporters both inside and outside,” the source said.
Rainsy has landed in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur at 3:50 pm on 9 November 2019.
It is worth recalling that Sam Rainsy announced the overthrow of the Royal Government of Cambodia through his repatriation on 9 November 2019, departing from Thai territory to Cambodia through Poi Pet's border.
Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha has responded that the Thai Government will not allow Sam Rainsy and his accomplices to use Thai territory against the legitimate Cambodian government.
“According to our commitment to ASEAN, we will not interfere in each other’s internal affairs, and we will not allow an anti-government person to use Thailand for activism,” Prayut said.
Cambodia does not share border with Malaysia.
