Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 30 – Former Leader of the court-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) Sam Rainsy, on Wednesday, criticized Radio French International (RFI) for being biased towards the Royal Government of Cambodia.
Rainsy's reactions came after he was mad responding to the RFI moderator’s question in an interview in Paris on Wednesday.
"RFI's Khmer-Language Service is under the control of a few individuals discretely working for the Hun Sen regime," Rainsy wrote on his Facebook today, 30 October 2019.
Regarding the allegations, Jean-François Tain, managing director of RFI in Phnom Penh, told Fresh News that he did not intend to respond immediately and this was not the first time that he [Sam Rainsy] has accused the radio “lacks of media professionalism”.
"RFI Phnom Penh is contacting our Paris whether we should respond to Sam Rainsy. For my personal opinion, no need," said Jean-François Tain.
Cambodian netizens have recently commented on Facebook page of French radio RFI to condemn and oppose Sam Rainsy’s repatriation to Cambodia on 9 November 2019. They called Sam Rainsy a "hypocrite" and "lacks of capacity in politics".
