Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 25 – Mu Sochua, former vice president of the court-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), has returned to the United States on 24 October 2019 after she was banned from entering Thailand, Sochua told French radio RFI recently.

On 22 October 2019, Mu Sochua admitted that Thai authorities did not allow her to enter its territory, as she was among several people blacklisted, including her leader Sam Rainsy.

“They put me in a special room, they [Thai authorities] escorted me, then the Malaysian Airlines ground staff did their best to find for me the next flight back to Kuala Lumpur,” she told The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.

“From there, rather than heading on to the Indonesian capital Jakarta as she had planned, Mu decided to return to the United States rather than risk being deported from Indonesia, too,” the same source said.

It is worth recalling that Mu Sochua is a prominent figure for Sam Rainsy's plot to overthrow the legitimate government of Cambodia.

Sam Rainsy, calling himself the acting president of former CNRP, has strongly denounced the Constitution; announced to fund military to topple the Royal Government; and urged Cambodian King, the Head of State, to abdicate.

The Royal Government of Cambodia, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has sent, last month, the arrest warrants of Sam Rainsy and his accomplices to all the ASEAN Members.

Cambodia’s neighbours Laos and Thailand have announced that they will not allow any groups, referring specifically to the group of convict in exile Sam Rainsy, to use their territories for initiating coup against Cambodia.

Pursuant to Article 2 of the ASEAN Charter, ASEAN Member States shall not engage in any policy or activity, including the use of its territories, pursued by any ASEAN Member States or non-ASEAN Member States or any non-State actor, which threatens the sovereignty, territorial integrity, or political and economic stability of any ASEAN Member State.
