Phnom Penh (FN), Sept. 26 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has observed that people visit their homeland happily during Pchum Ben, without fear and worries like in wartime.
“Our country is now enjoying peace and prosperity. With more roads, bridges, and resorts, local and international tourists can easily travel without fear or worries like in wartime,” Prime Minister wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
The premier wished people a happy Pchum Ben and great time with family.
Pchum Ben is a 15-day Cambodian Buddhist religious festival, culminating in celebrations on the 15th day of October.
Many Cambodians pay their respects to deceased relatives of up to seven generations by offering food through monks in pagodas nationwide.
Although the full festival is 15-day long, the national holiday is just three days in length.
