Tokyo, Japan (FN), May 29 - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen stated Wednesday that Cambodia does not want to be enemy to any countries, but be friends with all, including the United States, based on mutual respect on independence and sovereignty, speaking in a meeting with Takahashi Fumiaki, President of Japan-Cambodia Association and former Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia.

"Cambodia does not want to be enemy to any country, yet always want to be friend with all countries, including the United States. Cambodia requires respect on our independence and sovereignty," delegate minister Kao Kim Hourn quoted Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Strongman Hun Sen asked Takahashi to convey to the United States that Cambodia still wants to be a good friend with the United States. He emphasized it is wrong to think that Cambodia is turning away from the United States and tilting towards China.

The Premier took the opportunity to share perspectives on general political situation, particularly in relations to the United Nations Charter, and the International Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

In the meeting, both sides also discussed investment opportunity. The Premier called on Japanese investors to invest more in the kingdom and hoped that Cambodia-Japan bilateral trade will grow from USD 2 billion to USD 5 billion.
