(Phnom Penh): JT International (Cambodia) Co. Ltd, (“JTI Cambodia”), a leading international tobacco company, has been officially recognized by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia as one of the Top 10 Largest Taxpayers in the Kingdom for 2025, earning the prestigious Gold Taxpayer classification.
This marks the third time JTI Cambodia has received national recognition for its tax contributions, having previously ranked 22nd in 2020 and 34th in 2022 before advancing to the Top 10 in 2025. The award underscores JTI’s consistent compliance with Cambodia’s tax regulations and its role in driving sustainable social and economic growth.
“We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from the Royal Cambodian Government. As a responsible Japanese company, we remain unwavering in our commitment to fostering economic development wherever we operate. In Cambodia, as a true Partner for Progress, we will continue to work hand in hand with the government to advance the Kingdom’s social and economic growth,” said Mr. Benjamin Cerletti, General Manager of JTI Cambodia.
JTI Cambodia has built a distinguished track record of recognition across multiple national institutions. The General Department of Taxation has awarded the company Gold Tax Compliance status (2022–2027), while the General Department of Customs and Excise has honored JTI as both Best Trader and Authorized Economic Operator.
In 2024, the Ministry of Environment granted the company the Friendliness Environmental Certificate for its commitment to conservation and protection in the Kingdom.
Adding to these achievements, in 2026, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training proudly recognized JTI Cambodia with the Gold Status of “One Enterprise, One Harmonious Community.”
On the global stage, JTI Cambodia stands apart as the first and only company in Cambodia to be recognized as a Top Employer for six consecutive years by the prestigious Top Employer Institute in the Netherlands—an accolade that underscores its world-class people practices and workplace standards.
Beyond these recognition and awards, JTI Cambodia’s impact extends into the community, with around USD 2 million invested in social projects ranging from humanitarian aid for displaced civilians, reforestation, solar streetlight installations, clean water solutions, and housing for vulnerable groups, to support programs for disabilities. Employees have also dedicated countless volunteer hours to these initiatives, underscoring JTI’s holistic commitment to both people and society.
