(Beijing): China has been actively cooperating with Cambodia in combating cross-border telecom and internet fraud, and has achieved notable progress, Guo Jiakun, Spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said during a regular press briefing on 19 January 2026.

Guo underscored that the Chinese government attaches high importance to keeping overseas Chinese nationals safe.

The spokesperson noted that China has been actively cooperating with Cambodia in combating cross-border telecom and internet fraud, and has achieved notable progress.

According to the spokesperson, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia is in communication and coordination with Cambodia, and relevant work is underway.
