(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen sent a congratulatory letter to Anke Rehlinger, President of the German Bundesrat, on the auspicious occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the Day of German Unity.

"On behalf of the legislative and executive bodies, especially the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and on my own behalf, I would like to extend my sincere felicitations to you, the Bundesrat, and the friendly people of the Federal Republic of Germany on the momentous occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the Day of German Unity," according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Saturday (Oct. 4).

"The reunification of Germany remains an enduring symbol of the unity, resilience, and determination of the German people in building a democratic, prosperous, and advanced nation. I am confident that Germany will continue to thrive and play an increasingly important role in promoting global peace, stability, and prosperity.

I am very pleased to note that the bonds of friendship and development partnership between Cambodia and Germany have been flourishing based on mutual respect, trust, and mutually beneficial cooperation. I stand ready to work closely with you to continue fostering the close cooperation between our two legislative bodies within the bilateral and inter-parliamentary frameworks to further promote Cambodia-Germany relations and cooperation for the mutual benefit of our two peoples and for global peace, stability, and sustainable development."
