(Phnom Penh): Trump’s tariffs have reshaped US trade, hitting partners unevenly.

By September 2025, China (47.3%), India (38.0%), and Brazil (29.6%) faced the steepest hikes, while the UK (7.1%) and Ireland (6.6%) saw mild rates. Canada (19.4%) and Germany (18.8%) landed in between.

This gave rivals an edge: the UK (+12.3%), Mexico (+10.8%), and Vietnam (+6.1%) gained most, while China (-28.5%), India (-14.8%), and Brazil (-11.9%) lost ground.

For US revenue, China is projected to contribute $205.2B, far ahead of Mexico ($84.1B) and Canada ($78.8B). India ($33.0B), Japan ($32.3B), and Germany ($29.9B) also add sizable sums, while the UK brings just $4.8B.

Overall, Trump’s tariffs unevenly redistributed costs and benefits, reshaping global competition.
