(Phnom Penh): The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Phnom Penh held an information session for Cambodian businesses interested in the upcoming 40th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2025, which will take place on 15–19 October 2025 at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City.
TEI is the largest business-to-business and business-to-customer exhibition in Indonesia, organized by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. The exhibition is divided into three main zones: Food, Beverages and Agriculture Products; Manufactured Products; and Services and Lifestyle Products.
Ambassador Santo Darmosumarto expressed Indonesia’s readiness to become a trusted, long-term source for products demanded by Cambodian consumers. He encouraged Cambodian businesses to make use of this timely momentum to participate in TEI, where they will encounter many quality products and services, and most importantly, a good opportunity to meet their potential business partners from Indonesia.
In addition to the product exhibition, TEI’s agenda will consist of B2B business matchings, trade missions, international seminars, business counseling, as well as MoU/LoI/contract signings. During last year’s TEI, there were more than 40,000 visitors, joined by 1,400 exhibitors, 8,042 buyers, and recorded US$ 22.7 billion potential transactions.
During last year’s TEI, the Embassy received Primaduta Award from the Indonesian government for its significant role in promoting Indonesian exports overseas.
While several Indonesian products already have strong presence among the Cambodian people, many other potential Indonesian products are yet to be introduced to the country. Trade statistics from January-August 2025, as retrieved from Cambodia’s GDCE, show that bilateral trade volume in that period amounted to US$704,307, ranking Indonesia as the 10th biggest partner for Cambodia.
The Embassy is keen to further strengthen bilateral trade cooperation. In the past two years, bilateral trade reached US$1 billion each year. The Embassy has taken several initiatives to achieve this target, among others, through holding the biggest Indonesian trade and tourism promotion in Cambodia, “Sousdey Indonesia 2025” in June as well as conducting business trips to provinces in Cambodia to explore potential economic cooperation with Indonesia.
