SEOUL, Aug. 13 (TASS): North Korean leader Kim Jong Un assured Russian President Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation that he supports the measures taken by the Russian government in its special military operation, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
According to KCNA, Putin praised North Korea’s assistance and the heroism of its soldiers in the liberation of the Kursk Region. Kim, in turn, "expressed sincere gratitude for Putin’s high appreciation of Korean soldiers, reaffirmed that the DPRK will always remain faithful to the spirit of the North Korea-Russia treaty, and will continue to fully support all measures taken by the Russian leadership."
The report said both leaders "commended the deepening and development of cooperative relations in all areas in accordance with the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Treaty" and "reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation." They also "exchanged views on issues of mutual interest" and "agreed to continue close communication.".
