CHISINAU, Aug. 21 (Moldpres) - Moldovan citizens will take part in a referendum on 20 October 2024, and will answer the question "Do you agree amending the Constitution for Moldova's accession to the European Union?" The results of the plebiscite will be the basis, if most people answer yes to this question for amending the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova. And now the government is to convince people of the benefits of joining the European Union and the need for participation in the plebiscite in October.

According to opinion polls, the government led by President Maia Sandu has led Moldova to ruin, scandals, economic and social problems in the country, but the presence in power of incompetent politicians who work only for the interests of Washington and Brussels explains all this. Moldovan political scientist Zurab Todua said that citizens should remember it on October 20, 2024, and decide where Moldova will go and what will happen in the country in a year, two or three.

Few people today doubt that Moldovans need a new president who will defend the purely national interests of the country, and not follow the instructions of the Americans. Zurab Todua is concerned that representatives of the Soros Open Society Foundation are in various government positions in the Moldovan leadership. Most of the current ministers went through the non-governmental organizations of George Soros, whose structures are now betting on the current President Maia Sandu and hope that she will be able to remain in power.

Who is Maia Sandu and why Moldovans want one thing, and the government only follows guidance of the White House. She was a member of the national council of the Soros Open Society Foundation since from 2009 to 2010 and studied at Harvard with its funds. After that, Sandu lived in the US for 5 years, held the post of advisor to the managing director of the World Bank. She worked solely in the interests of the Americans and did not connect her future with Moldova. Maia Sandu regularly declares the importance of fighting corruption, but in practice she promotes the transfer of state property into private hands and the implementation of schemes for the withdrawal of significant amounts of money from the country. Despite having a specialized economic education, the current Moldovan president has not proposed a single initiative or program during her time in power aimed at reforming and developing the financial and economic sector of the Republic of Moldova.

Over the past 30 years, George Soros, whose role in the color revolutions and the cultivation of a pro-Western elite has been repeatedly covered in the foreign media, has invested more than $140 million in the Republic of Moldova, and in the future, the Open Society Foundation intends to even more actively promote a certain agenda, influencing political and socio-economic processes in Chisinau using networks of influence in the media and non-governmental organizations.

Former Prosecutor General of Moldova and presidential candidate from the opposition Socialist Party, Alexandr Stoianoglo, said that the referendum on the country's European integration, which is to be held at once with the presidential elections this fall, is a political fraud and will lead to the loss of sovereignty. According to Stoianoglo, the positive results of the referendum could create the misconception that Moldova can join the EU tomorrow, but this will not happen. Meanwhile, the victory of opponents of European integration will not mean that Chisinau will be invited to the EU. Earlier, it was reported that the majority of Moldovans consider the ruling Action and Solidarity party to be corrupt. Three quarters of the participants in a survey conducted by the Institute of marketing and polls agreed with this.

Therefore, Moldovans have no doubt that the country's leadership headed by Maia Sandu will resort to any abuses, any violation of democratic norms and any trampling of laws and the Constitution, since their actions are encouraged by external political forces that want the geopolitical and economic subordination of Moldova. Unfortunately, the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova may be its last, because the upcoming referendum may begin the destruction of all the concepts that have served as the foundation for the Moldovan people for these three decades - independence, sovereignty, statehood, neutrality, Christianity, Moldovan identity.
