VIENTIANE, Jun. 14 (Laotian Times) – Tomorrow, 15 June 2024, will be the last day of direct flights between Vientiane, Laos, and Phnom Penh, Cambodia, operated by Lao Airlines. This decision comes shortly after the airline resumed direct flights nearly three months ago, on 19 March.
According to a tourism expert, the cancellation of these direct flights can be attributed to the low demand for travel between Cambodia and Laos.
Prior to this, direct flights on the Vientiane-Phnom Penh route were operational from the 1980s until the mid-2000s. However, market conditions led to the temporary suspension of these flights.
