Battambang (FN), Jun. 6 – On 5 June, Pablo Kang, Australian Chargé d'affaires, visited the Marie Stopes International Cambodia (MSIC) clinic in Battambang to underscore the collaboration between the Australian Government and MSIC, aimed at enhancing sexual and reproductive health and rights for Cambodian women.

Funded by the Australian Government, the MSIC Battambang Centre serves their communities by providing quality, affordable, and equitable sexual and reproductive health and family planning services.

These projects are not only ensuring the self-sustainability of the centre but are also paving the way for a brighter, healthier future for women in Cambodia by diversifying services, upgrading equipment and laboratory facilities, and building the capacity of dedicated clinical staff.

One of the most impactful initiatives under this partnership is the expansion of telehealth services. With contact centre agents trained to provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health counselling, medical abortion, and short-term family planning services, MSIC is breaking down barriers to healthcare access. The expanded telehealth services ensure that women in remote areas can receive the crucial care and support they need.

“Good sexual and reproductive health is important for women’s general health and wellbeing. It is fundamental to their ability to make choices and decisions about their lives including when or whether to consider having children,” said Chargé d'affaires Pablo Kang.

Adapting to the shifting landscape of healthcare, MSIC's network of clinics has expanded to offer comprehensive high-quality, affordable, confidential, and non-judgmental healthcare services for every stage of womanhood. These range from contraception and abortion care to integrated services across the continuum of care such as menstruation counselling, human papillomavirus vaccines, management of sexually transmitted infections, HIV counselling and testing, antenatal care, menopause support, and primary care for survivors of gender-based violence.

For those seeking assistance with SRH services and counselling, MSIC provides multiple contact options:
