Phnom Penh (FN), May 17 – From 1 June 2024, Singapore Airlines (SIA) will increase seat capacity on three weekly services between Singapore and Phnom Penh and will operate the Airbus A350-900 aircraft for SQ157 and SQ158. SIA currently operates 21 weekly services between Singapore and Phnom Penh with the Boeing 737-8 aircraft, that features 10 Business Class and 144 Economy Class seats per flight.

The Airbus A350-900 features 40 Business Class and 262 Economy Class seats, and will operate every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. This will nearly double the current seat capacity for the three weekly services, with additional seats in both the Business Class and Economy Class cabins.

As of May 2024, SIA operates 28 weekly services to two points in Cambodia: Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

Mr. Zechariah Chai, General Manager Cambodia, Singapore Airlines, said: “Singapore Airlines is able to connect travelers from Cambodia through its Singapore hub to popular destinations including Japan, Europe, Australia, and America. The added capacity reflects SIA’s commitment to developing its network connectivity as part of its brand promise. We continue to seek growth opportunities to offer our customers a premium travel experience with excellent connectivity.”

SIA began operating direct flights between Singapore and Brussels on 5 April 2024 and has announced plans to launch non-stop flights between Singapore and London’s Gatwick Airport. Subject to regulatory approval, the inaugural flight will depart Singapore for Gatwick Airport on 21 June 2024. Along with the current four-times daily services to London's Heathrow Airport, this will bring the total number of flights to London to 33 weekly services.
