Seoul (FN), May 17 – SK Securities, a South Korean financial investment company, expressed its intention to invest in Cambodia and its confidence that the investment climate in Cambodia will improve under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by President of the SK Securities Jeon Woo Jong on Friday morning (May 17) in Seoul, South Korea.
SK Securities, a financial investment company established in 1955, has won first prize in brand and service evaluations for its trading system and mobile application called Stock Radar.
In addition, SK Securities has been the top performer in its internal management system evaluation for nine consecutive years since 2011 and has won the "Korea Exchange Compliance Awards" four times, in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2019.
President of SK Securities thanked Samdech Thipadei for taking the time to meet with him and his delegation. He also briefed Samdech Thipadei on the progress of SK Securities' business operations in the financial and banking sectors, the Green Climate Fund, and other project funding.
Woo Jong Jeon expressed his strong belief that under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei, the investment environment in Cambodia will become more favourable. He also expressed interest in investing in the financial sector in Cambodia.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet warmly welcomed the SK Securities president and his delegation and thanked the SK Securities for its intention to invest in Cambodia.
The premier praised Korean companies investing in Cambodia for their important role in contributing to the socio-economic development of the country. Regarding the financial and banking sector in Cambodia, he acknowledged that while the Cambodian market is still small, the Royal Government of Cambodia is actively promoting and modernising the sector. He added that the Royal Government of Cambodia is ready to provide support and coordination to companies wishing to invest in this sector.
On the topic of the Green Climate Project, Prime Minister Hun Manet underscored that Cambodia is focused on advancing green technology development. The Royal Government of Cambodia prioritises the production of clean electricity through hydropower, solar, and other renewable energy sources.
Samdech Thipadei also underscored that to ensure a competitive business environment, the Royal Government of Cambodia remains committed to maintaining peace, political stability, and social order, thereby providing confidence to investors. He encouraged SK Securities to explore opportunities for collaboration with relevant institutions in Cambodia's potential sectors.
