KIEV, April 3 (Xinhua) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb signed a security agreement between the two countries, Zelensky's press service reported Wednesday.
The ten-year deal commits Finland to continue its military, political and financial support for Kiev amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Under the agreement, Finland will assist Ukraine in rebuilding its energy sector, strengthening border and critical infrastructure protection, and providing medical treatment for soldiers.
The deal also includes arrangements on sanctions and compensations for damage caused by the conflict.
Apart from Finland, Ukraine has signed security agreements with seven countries, namely Britain, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, and the Netherlands.
Since the start of the conflict, Ukraine received about 2 billion euros (about 2.16 billion U.S. dollars) in aid from Finland, including 400 million euros (about 432 million dollars) this year.
