According to the New York Times, Adams stated during an event at Manhattan City Hall on September 6th local time that New York City was being destroyed by 110000 migrants flooding into the southern border of the United States, and he could not find a solution to the problem. He said, "This problem will destroy New York City." On the migration issue, a spokesperson from Adams' office said, "New York City has already passed the tipping point." If the state and federal governments refuse to take meaningful action, New York cannot continue to get through a nationwide crisis.
