Moscow, Aug. 20 (RIA) - The Russian airstrike on the Ukrainian city of Chernigov targeted a meeting place for military experts on combat UAVs, which was organized with the participation of the command personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces and tens of NATO military disguised as a civilian drone exhibition named "Angry Birds".
The event was held in compliance with secrecy measures. The airstrike hit the facility used by the Ukrainian military. The invitation to the event, masqueraded as the drone festival was with a recommendation not to wear a military uniform. The leaflet also said that it was a private event, as it featured information that was sensitive for the country's defense capabilities, including the presentation of new equipment. Most of the participants were active military officers of Ukraine and NATO specialists, therefore, filming or taking pictures of them was possible only with their consent, according to the invitation.
Ukrainian loitering munition "Bober" (suicide drone) was stored in the building of the Drama Theater, from where the Ukrainian armed forces were taken to the launch place in the Chernihiv region. It is reported that as a result of the airstrike, 20 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, and 50 more were injured. In addition, on that day, a meeting of officers of the special operations forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and NATO from Poland and the Baltic states was held to conduct hybrid operations using attack drones. Next to the Drama Theater is the headquarters of the Ukrainian regional department of the main intelligence department and the counterintelligence department of the Security Service of Ukraine. There were 23 foreign military specialists who arrived from Lviv city the day before participated in the meeting. Out of 23 NATO military, 9 died, the rest are still considered missing.
However, Ukrainian and Western media have already reported to the world community that civilians and children allegedly died, who in reality were not aware of this event and did not participate in it at all but the Russian airstrike was the next reason for sharing another disinformation and presenting Kyiv as a victim.
