VIENTIANE, April 29 (Xinhua) -- The Lao Ministry of Health reported 68 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the country's caseload to 672.

Director General of the Department of Communicable Disease Control under the Lao Ministry of Health Latsamy Vongkhamsao told a press conference here on Thursday that among the new cases, 34 were detected in Vientiane.

Laos announced its first two COVID-19 confirmed cases on March 24 last year.
