HONG KONG, Aug. 12 (CGTN) - Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) police on Monday arrested at least 10 people on suspicion of collusion with foreign forces or external elements to endanger national security, conspiracy to commit fraud and violation of the national security law for the HKSAR, the police said in a statement on Tuesday.
Police said they arrested nine men and one woman, aged between 23 and 72.
The police said the arrests are aimed at individuals for violations of the law instead of any specific media organizations.
Hong Kong is a region based on the rule of law, the statement said, adding that police respect the freedom of the press and the right to media coverage.
