TRIPOLI, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Libya's National Center for Disease Control Saturday announced 10 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 520.
In a statement earlier Saturday, the center said it received a total of 825 suspected samples, of which 810 tested negative and 10 positive, adding two more patients have recovered.
Libya has so far recorded 83 recoveries and 10 deaths, the center said.
The Libyan authorities took a series of precautionary measures against the outbreak, including closing schools and mosques, banning public gatherings, closing all the country's borders, and imposing a curfew.
Libya reported its first COVID-19 infection in March, and the first death in April. Enditem
