BANGKOK, March 24 (CNA) - Thailand reported two more deaths from the novel coronavirus on Tuesday (Mar 24) as its death toll rose to four, a health ministry official said.
The announcement came after authorities in the country earlier reported a second patient died from COVID-19.
Officials in Thailand also announced 106 new cases, taking the total number of infected to 827.
The three deaths were patients who had other health complications, including a 70-year-old man who had tuberculosis, a 45-year-old man who had diabetes and a 79-year-old man who had health problems, Taweesin Wisanuyothin, a Public Health Ministry spokesman, said.
Since the start of the outbreak, 57 patients have recovered and gone home, while 766 are still being treated in hospitals.
The pandemic of disease caused by the coronavirus is accelerating, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Monday, with more than 300,000 cases now recorded and infections reported from nearly every country worldwide.
