YANGON, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities are negotiating for the return of another 600 trafficked Myanmar people from Thailand, according to the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement on Saturday.

The matter was raised at the 23rd Myanmar-Thailand Case Management Meeting on Return and Reintegration of Victims of Trafficking held in Yangon on Thursday.

The meeting focused on the safe return of the victims trafficked to Thailand and protection of them who are being accommodated at care centers run by the Thai Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.

There were cases in 2018 when brokers persuaded more than 100 Myanmar workers to work in Thailand under a job promise.

Victims trafficked from Myanmar to Thailand are returning through three border gates -- Myawaddy-Maesot, Tachileik-Maesai and Kawthoung-Ranong.

The next round of biannual meeting for the return of Myanmar trafficked victims will be held in Thailand.
