BEIJING, July 24 (CGTN) -- At least 11 people died and 34 are unaccounted due to a landslide in Shuicheng County of Liu Panshui City, southwest China's Guizhou Province, local authorities confirmed on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at around 9:20 p.m. local time on Tuesday night and 21 houses were buried.

The emergency team was deployed to pull out those trapped under the rubble and 22 people have been rescued so far.

Search and rescue efforts are still underway.
