KUNMING, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Police in southwest China's Yunnan Province said Monday they had confiscated 32 tonnes of frozen chicken feet smuggled into China from Vietnam.

The public security bureau of Maguan County said the frozen meat with Vietnamese packaging was discovered from two unguarded roadside storage sites in local villages last Friday.

Police said they destroyed the chicken feet and are investigating the case.

Cooked chicken feet are a popular snack in China, and the huge domestic demands have fueled illegal imports in recent years. In January, police in the same county seized over 30 tonnes of frozen chicken feet smuggled from Vietnam.
