KIEV, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Ukrainian Armed Forces received more than 4,900 units of domestically-produced weaponry and military equipment in 2018, the country's state defense conglomerate Ukroboronprom said on Friday.
Last year, Ukrainian enterprises supplied the army with different kinds of modernized arms and equipment as well as new samples of military hardware, Ukroboronprom said in a statement on Facebook.
Earlier, Ukroboronprom, which unites more than 130 enterprises from Ukraine's defense industry, said its manufacturers last year provided the country's military with "Stugna," "Corsair" and "Barrier" anti-tank missile complexes, modernized planes and helicopters as well as maritime equipment.
Ukraine's defense industry has witnessed significant growth since 2014, when an armed conflict began in the country's eastern Donbas region.
Local experts estimate that since 2014, Ukroboronprom has supplied the Ukrainian armed forces with more than 20,000 units of weaponry and military equipment.
