KATHMANDU, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Nepal's former Prime Minister Tulsi Giri passed away on Tuesday at the age of 92.
The veteran politician breathed his last in his residence at Budhanilkantha in the capital after a prolonged liver cancer, family sources said here.
Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and senior leaders of various political parties have expressed deep sorrow on Tuesday.
"I'm saddened at the passing away of former Prime Minister Giri. I pay tribute to late Giri and express deep condolence to the entire family at this hour of tragedy," Oli tweeted.
Giri was active in the Nepalese politics from 1960 to 2005.
