WASHINGTON, June 27 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump's approval rating has risen to 47 percent by two points from last month, according to a new poll released Wednesday.
The president's approval rating rose by six points among Republicans and by four points among Democrats, compared to last month's survey results, according to the Harvard CAPS/Harris poll issued exclusively to TheHill news daily.
Trump's approval rating was lifted in part by a 10-point climb among Hispanic voters, the poll found.
However, the poll showed that Trump's approval rating fell by 4 points among independents, and 53 percent of those polled hold an unfavorable view of him.
"He (Trump) is holding his base and doing particularly well with men," said Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll co-director Mark Penn.
The rising numbers appear to reflect the strong U.S. economy and the Trump administration's handling its relationship with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Penn suggested.
According to the same poll, Trump's approval rating reached its highest point last year, at 49 percent.
The Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll online survey of 1,448 registered voters was conducted on June 24 and 25. The partisan breakdown is 37 percent Democrat, 32 percent Republican, 29 percent independent and two percent other.
