Phnom Penh (FN), June 28 - Ney Sam Ol, Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the United Nations Office at Geneva released a statement in response to the statement delivered by Bulgaria on behalf of EU, their cohorts, and some NGOs against Cambodia at the 38th Session of the Human Rights Council, held on 27 June 2018 (GMT+2).
"Why are they so rush to raise Cambodia's issue at this session? Because they are motivated by political bias, not human rights," Cambodian ambassador wrote in the statement, dated on Wednesday.
"They have their hidden agenda in discrediting the outstanding achievement of the Royal Government of Cambodia in maintaining hard-earned peace, stability, and steady economic growth, and specifically to stonewall the ruling party," he added.
According to the Ambassador speaking in the 37th session, Cambodia will hold the election in July this year, so they wanted to interfere into Cambodia's internal affairs rightly before the election occur.
