Phnom Penh (FN), June 22 – Cambodian police, arrested 36 Cambodian women and 4 Chinese, allegedly charged of surrogacy, an agreement whereby a woman agrees to carry a pregnancy for another person who will become the newborn child's parent after birth.
Police operated on Thursday night in Phnom Penh’s Russey Keo district under the coordination of deputy prosecutor Kuch Kimlong and the anti-human trafficking force.
Two cars and one motorcycle were confiscated, and the 40 suspects were sent to anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection office for further legal procedures.
