Phnom Penh (FN), June 8 - The newly appointed Thai ambassador to Cambodia Panyarak Poolthup praised the Royal Government of Cambodia for prioritizing on maintaining peace, stability, and security, the fundamental factors to economic development, speaking during a courtesy call on Chairman of the Cambodian Constitutional Council Im Chhun Lim on Friday at the council in Chamkamorn.

"The implementations of the country's constitutional law is important to ensure that the nation's affairs are well achieved," the ambassador said.

In response, Im Chhun Lim thanks for Thailand's support on law implementation, peacekeeping, and development.

He said that it is good that the Cambodian-Thai people have a good cooperation, especially between the top leaders of the two governments.

Im Chhun Lim said that in the context of the good relations, the Constitutional Council are ready to further cooperate with Thailand.

President of the Constitutional Court of Thailand Kramol Tongdhamachart led the Council delegation to visit Cambodia and hold a joint seminar on September 27, 2004 on the Action Plan Development and Cooperation Initiative of constitutional institutions of the two countries.

Im Chhun Lim hoped that the new ambassador will expand the cooperation in order to better trade relations between the two countries to triple to $15,000 million annually as mentioned by Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-O-Cha in Thai-Cambodian joint session of Ministers on 7 September 2017.
