Sereisophorn (FN), June 8 – Minister of Commerce Pan Sorasak once again appealed for Cambodian people to support local products in order to reduce imported products; promote sustainable local production and economic growth; and reduce poverty through employments and revenue for the people and the nation.

He appeal was made when presiding over the opening ceremony of the Khmer Products Exhibition held in front of the Department of Commerce in Banteay Meanchey province on Thursday.

For local and foreign tourists to local products, the Minister also called on local producers and entrepreneurs to improve their product quality in line with international standards, including packaging, branding, and marketing.

“All producers and entrepreneurs shall improve quality products and services with reasonable price in order to compete with goods imported from abroad,” stated Pan Sorasak.

“I believe that the citizens will support local products, as these criteria are the prerequisites of free market competition that we all acknowledge,” he added.
