Phnom Penh (FN), May 31 - Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong gave a special interview with Fresh News (FN) on Wednesday regarding former opposition leader Sam Rainsy who has deceived people abroad regarding the electoral situation in Cambodia.

FN: What do you think when Sam Rainsy said the situation in Cambodia today is good, as the opposition party does not participate in July's elections?

DPM Hor Namhong: The political situation in Cambodia is good due to the absence of the traitors who attempted to initiate color revolution, and that the active participation of the 20 political parties in the July’s elections reflected a multi-party liberal democracy in Cambodia.

FN: Sam Rainsy said that no one will recognize the election results, and that no country will grant aid to nor invest in Cambodia?

DPM Hor Namhong: Sam Rainsy is currently pursuing his goals by deceiving Cambodians who live abroad. One day, no one will believe him, as foreigners recognized that Cambodia has peace and stability, allowing Cambodia to develop on all sectors and be recognized as a high economic growth country in the international community due to to stable annual growth of 7% for over two decade. People enjoy peace and development as we can see.

FN: He also wrote a letter to the King requesting his Majesty not to do this and that. What do you think?

DPM Hor Namhong: The act insulted the King as the His Majesty is respected by 16 million people. Based on my understanding, it also violated the law the National Assembly adopted.
