Phnom Penh (FN), May 30 - Senior Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn stated that the active participation of the 20 political parties in the July’s national elections reflected a multi-party liberal democracy in Cambodia.

His statement was made during a meeting with British Ambassador to Cambodia William Longhurst to strengthen bilateral cooperation and relationship between the two countries after the end of diplomatic mandate on Tuesday, according to MoFA's press released on Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Minister also informed the Ambassador the efforts of the National Election Committee as well as all relevant authorities to prepare for the forthcoming July elections to ensure a free, fair, non-violent, and transparent election.

The ambassador said that Britain is paying close attention to Cambodia's elections and hopes that good progress will be made after the election.

The NEC has officially accredited 20 registered political parties for the Election of Members of the National Assembly in the 6th Legislature, to be held on July 29, 2018.
