Phnom Penh (FN), May 30 - Recently, convicted Sam Rainsy has appealed to people to not vote in the July’s election by using faulty ink to mark their fingers to pretend that they had voted.
"Is pretending to vote by marking their fingers with fake black ink face legal procedure?", Fresh News interviewed Justice Ministry spokesman Kim Santepheap on Wednesday.
The spokesman pointed out that the disguise act is a deliberate intention to mislead the actual number of voters, resulting in more voter turnout than the actual number of ballot papers and that will trigger a social chaos.
"The number of black fingers must equal to the number of voters and the number of the voted ballot papers,” stated the spokesman.
Many Facebook users changed their profile on Facebook, confirming that they will vote for the representative of the National Assembly 6th mandate election as they know the important of the election.
