Phnom Penh (FN), May 25 - Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith posted on his Facebook page on Friday saying that the electricity supply for residences has increased from 48% in 2016 to 68% in 2017 and 70% in 2018.
"By the end of 2017, approximately 2.3 million houses have access to electricity, according to the Ministry of Mines and Energy's report” the minister wrote on Facebook.
EDC signed a contract for the construction of a 230-kilovolts phase II and 185-million-dollar cable transmission line with Chinese National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC).
This project, expected to complete in 36 months, will improve electricity supply for people living in southwest of Cambodia.
