Phnom Penh (FN), May 22 - With the cooperation between Cambodia and Thailand in the fields of work and education, technical and vocational training, the two sides have assisted on legal provision to more than 300,000 Cambodian workers in Thailand, while more than 400,000 remains working illegally.

Speaking after a meeting with Thai Ambassador to Cambodia Panyarak Poolthup on Tuesday morning, Cambodia Minister of Labor and Vocational Training Ith Sam Heng said that illegal Cambodian workers are now legal.

He added that Cambodia had sent more than 300 inter-ministerial working group to three centers located in Bangkok, Pathum Thani and Rayong to cooperate with the Thai side, working on legal provision to Cambodian workers.

The minister added that he will lead a Ministry of Labor delegation in mid-June to pay an official visit to Thailand to finalize and resolve the remaining issues and to accelerate the cooperation to be more effective and efficient.

Thai ambassador also congratulated the opening of Cambodia's new international border checkpoint in Battambang province to enhance on legal provision to Cambodian workers passing through the new entrance.
