Phnom Penh (FN), May 18 - A ruling party spokesman Sok Eysan said on Friday that the attempt to adopt law to put pressure the Royal Government of Cambodia and its people, carried out by a few U.S lawmakers, will not be possible.
His statement came after U.S lawmaker Alan Lowenthal and member from U.S Republican Party Ted Yoho wanted to adopt a law to put pressure on Cambodia’s government.
Sok Eysan said that the law violates Cambodia's independence and sovereignty, and ineffectively helps the traitors.
"Those individuals who initiated color revolution to destroy democracy in Cambodia must face Cambodian law”, he added.
The stances of the two lawmakers are contrary to the U.S Senator Doug Ericksen of the Republican in Washington State who does not want the U.S to interfere into Cambodia’s internal affairs.
U.S Senator Doug Ericksen considers the win-win policy of Prime Minister Hun Sen as a perfect example for other countries to learn from and gain experiences.
Doug Ericksen announced that no countries in the world could order Cambodia to do anything as a sovereign state; Cambodia chooses her own path and determines the destiny for the nation and people.
The statement was made when the senator met with Prime Minister Hun Sen on May 7 at Phnom Penh’s Peace Palace.
Doug Ericksen recognized Cambodia’s rapid economic development, thanks to the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Sen.
