Phnom Penh (FN), May 17 - Cambodian People's Party spokesman Sok Eysan, on Thursday, called former opposition leaders Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha the destroyers of Cambodia's democracy.

Former president of the dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party Kem Sokha wanted to topple the government like the cases in Yugoslavia and Serbia, whereas Sam Rainsy appealed for people not to go to vote.

CPP’s spokesman stated that they tried to pressurize Cambodian government in many forms, including attempting to cut aid on the National Election Committee; supported rebels; and urged people not to vote.

Addressing to approximately 20,000 workers from factories in the new Intervia Automobile Industry Complex Special Economic Zone in Bavet on May 9, Prime Minister Hun Sen reiterated that with his presence, no one could harm the peace and stability of Cambodia.

The National Assembly 6th mandate election will be held on July 29, 2018. So far, 20 parties have registered to race in the election. The NEC has officially recognized five parties and is reviewing the applications of the other 15.
