Phnom Penh (FN), April 4 – The Ministry of Environment (MoE) clarified Friday that the air quality in major cities across the Kingdom is not seriously polluted, as some media publicized.
“From 2013 until today, the Ministry has observed air quality in major cities across Cambodia, particularly Phnom Penh, to assess and evaluate air quality to ensure public health,” according to the press release.
“In 2017, the Ministry has installed tool to examine particulate matter (PM) 10 and 2.5, types that gravely affect respiratory system. As a result, all the parameters indicated that the quality of air in Cambodia is not seriously polluted,” the press added.
The Ministry urged the public to be informed and not be concerned on safety of travelling and public occupation.
The Ministry will update the public in case irregularities of air quality happened.
