Seoul, April 30 (Xinhua): US President Donald Trump suggested Monday that his meeting with Kim Jong Un, leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), be held on the border of the DPRK and the ROK, the same site as Kim's historic meeting last week with ROK President Moon Jae-in.
“Numerous countries are being considered for the MEETING, but would Peace House/Freedom House, on the Border of North & South Korea, be a more Representative, Important and Lasting site than a third party country? Just asking!” Trump tweeted.
It came days after Trump revealed on Saturday that talks with the DPRK could take place "over the next three or four weeks".
"It's going [to] be a very important meeting, the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," he said.
Last week, the leaders of the ROK and the DPRK signed the "Panmunjom Declaration" and vowed to put an end to the Korean War during their meeting at the Peace House, which seemed to increase the likelihood of the Trump-Kim summit.
Trump has lauded the inter-Korean summit in a phone call with President Moon. The two leaders agreed to come up with concrete measures to lead to the “complete denuclearization” of the Korean Peninsula.
