Japan (FN), April 28 - Hun Manet, Lieutenant General in Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, on Friday evening, paid a separate courtesy call on Katsutoshi Kawano, a Japanese admiral serving as the 5th Chief of Staff, Joint Staff and is the highest-ranking officer of the Japan Self-Defense Forces, and Koji Yamazaki, Chief of Staff of the Japan Ground Self-Defence Force (Army).
During the meeting, the two sides discussed military cooperation; and shared their experience in defense sector in particular the activities of peacekeeping operations under the UN framework.
Manet is on a five-day trip to Japan from April 24 to 29, 2018, at the invitation of the Japanese government to strengthen and deepen the understanding of Cambodian-Japanese bilateral relations under Program for Strategic Exchanges on Practical Level-STEP.
During his visit, Hun Manet will pay a courtesy call on senior leaders of Japanese government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Self-Defense Forces, Liberal Democratic Party, and other Japanese dignitaries and parliamentarians.
