Japan (FN), April 27 - Hun Manet, Lieutenant General in Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, on Friday, paid a courtesy call on Itsunori Omodera, Japanese Defense Minister.

Hun Manet thanked Japan for sending self-defense forces to Cambodia under the framework of United Nations 1991 as a contribution to Cambodia’s peace. He also thanked for Japan’s consecutive support on Cambodian officials’ military capacity building.

In response, Japanese Defense Minister welcomed the visit of Manet, and affirmed that Japan will continue to support Cambodia on strengthening capacity building for Cambodia’s military officials and peacekeeping forces in Cambodia as implemented in the past.

Manet is on a five-day trip to Japan from April 24 to 29, 2018, at the invitation of the Japanese government to strengthen and deepen the understanding of Cambodian-Japanese bilateral relations under Program for Strategic Exchanges on Practical Level-STEP.

During his visit, Hun Manet will pay a courtesy call on senior leaders of Japanese government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Self-Defense Forces, Liberal Democratic Party, and other Japanese dignitaries and parliamentarians.
