HANOI, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Around 400 ATM accounts registered at the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) have been hacked, and some money have been withdrawn illegally, local media reported on Friday.

Within six minutes before Wednesday midnight, over 24 million Vietnamese dong (1,057 U.S. dollars) were withdrawn in eight transactions from an Agribank ATM account without its owner's knowledge, daily newspaper Tuoi Tre (Youth) reported.

On the same day, nearly 10 staff of Vietnamese daily newspaper Nhan Dan (People) had their money in their Agribank ATM accounts withdrawn without their knowledge, online newspaper Zing reported.

Agribank has locked all the compromised accounts and is finding the reason and the solution for the case.

According to many local information technology experts, criminals could have attached secret devices at ATMs to get passwords of Agribank account owners, and then made fake cards to withdraw money.
