Phnom Penh (FN), April 26 - Eng Chhai Eang, former vice-president of the Cambodia National Rescue Party, posted a message on Facebook expressing his regret toward the new political party formed by Kong Mony Ka, youngest son of former leader of Sam Rainsy Party Kong Korm.
"As an old saying goes, we can measure the depth of sea, but not human’s heart. Likewise, we cannot measure politician’s heart; one used to work together to rescue the nation but when National Rescue Party has issues, one turned to rescue the family and wealth,” Eng wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
Kong Mony Ka co-founded a new party “Chhantak Khmer Party” with other six politicians and will be the party’s leader to race in the upcoming 6th National Assembly Members Election.
Kong Mony Ka said Eng’s reaction is just a personal perspective.
“I do not have any reactions. It is their understanding. Our party will serve as a new soul for the dissolved opposition party”.
